Miracle League Twins named 2025 Keeper of The Game Team of the Year

The Miracle Legue of Frisco Twins have been named the 2025 Keeper of The Game Team of the Year, the foundation announced Jan. 6 at its annual RP11 Strikes and Scholarships bowling event at Main Event in Frisco, Texas.
Accepting the award was Twins head coach Matt Hanel, who was joined by a number of his players. Keeper of The Game Executive Director Bryan Hoctor and Assistant to the Director Ben Hoctor made the presentation.
The Keeper of The Game Team of the Year Award was created in 2020 to honor a baseball or softball team that displays outstanding passion for serving their local special needs community and supporting the Keeper of The Game Foundation during their season. The Twins are the sixth winner of the award, joining Stephen F. Austin State baseball (2020), LHS baseball (2021), Lone Star High School softball (2022), Reedy High School baseball (2023) and the Frisco RoughRiders (2024).
The Twins were champions of the local Sandlot Series, which was a baseball league created by Bryan Hoctor to allow athletes a chance to still get together weekly for some fun competition while their main field was under construction. More importantly, the squad made sure to have an honorary hitter for teammate Clayton Iburg, who is a Keeper of The Game ambassador in Houston battling leukemia. After each game, Iburg’s teammates sent him videos and texts to keep his spirits up.
Before, during and after every game – win or lose – the Twins demonstrated excellent sportsmanship.
This Twins were awarded their Sandlot Series championship rings at RP11 Strikes and Scholarships and made sure Iburg was mailed his first thing the next morning. The team also requested that Ben Hoctor was awarded a championship ring because he pitched nearly every pitch of the Sandlot Series.
