FRISCO, Texas – The Keeper of the Game Foundation (KoTG) announced on Wednesday, March 18, that it has launched a brand new website: www.KeeperofTheGame.org.
The site was developed by myEZreg and features an extremely user-friendly format. Visitors can keep up with the latest KoTG baseball news, find out ways to serve their community, provide ideas for future events, make donations to specific programming, view event photos, read testimonials and purchase official gear. The new look also allows for easier access to KoTG’s ramped-up social media presence on Facebook, Twitter (@BaseballKeepers) and Instagram (keeperofthegame).
Keeper of The Game was founded on Oct. 16, 2014 by current Frisco RoughRiders coach and Texas Rangers scout James Vilade. The mission of KoTG is to provide athletes with disabilities and special needs unique baseball experiences that foster the growth of those individuals and their love of baseball. KoTG promotes programs which allow these athletes to play, watch and experience baseball at a very personal level. This is all done with a focus on advancing servant leadership.
“Our foundation has built a strong leadership team that is making a big difference in the baseball community and beyond,” said Vilade, a Baylor University graduate who has also served as head baseball coach for the University of Dallas and the University of Texas at Tyler. “My passion for serving kids with special needs and disabilities began when I started coaching in 1997 and I made the decision to formalize my personal mission and share it with others. It has been great to see the strong impact Keeper of The Game is already having. From the Miracle League to Major League Baseball we are thankful to support and create programming that supports our mission. To us, the best part of baseball is sharing the game.”
What MLB players are saying about KoTG:
“As members of the baseball community it is our duty to make a difference by touching lives and reaching out to those who need us most. Be a Keeper of The Game.”
–Texas Rangers All-Star shortstop Elvis Andrus.
“Keeper of The Game encourages others to make a difference in the community around them through the sport we all love. What Keeper of The Game does is necessary and very special.”
–Baltimore Orioles All-Star slugger Chris Davis.
In addition to Andrus and Davis, professional baseball players such as Craig Gentry of the Oakland Athletics and David Murphy of the Cleveland Indians actively support KoTG. Vilade and KoTG also work closely with the Diamond Dreams Foundation, which honors the memory of MLB player and Minor League Baseball coach Mike Coolbaugh.
